Get To Know Me

Hi! I’m Kristin, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in South Carolina. Prior to beginning my career in the mental health field, I spent 6 years in law enforcement. My passion lies in helping first responders, and their spouses, navigate the challenges associated with the demands of the profession.

In addition to working with the military and first responder population, I thoroughly enjoy working with individuals (age 18+) who are experiencing a variety of symptoms as a result of past trauma. I am trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and frequently incorporate this into treatment.

I understand that asking for help can be difficult. Throughout my time in law enforcement, and my current career as a therapist, I have always been “the helper.” Individuals in helping professions sometimes feel that they shouldn’t seek help for themselves. I have learned, and truly come to believe, that seeking therapy is not something that anyone should be ashamed of.

I  take a collaborative and client-centered approach to therapy. I provide a safe and non-judgmental space for each of my clients to feel validated and supported. With that being said, I am not the therapist to sit back quietly. I challenge my clients to engage in the self-reflection necessary to see real change in their lives.
